“Men charged after skull dug up, used as bong”

HOUSTON (Reuters) - Authorities in Texas have filed corpse-abuse charges against two men who allegedly removed a skull from a grave and used it as a bong.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office confirmed on Thursday that misdemeanor abuse of corpse charges have been filed in the case.

One of the men allegedly told police they dug up a grave in an abandoned cemetery in the woods, removed a head from a body and smoked marijuana using the skull as a bong.

Police found the cemetery and a grave that had been disturbed but are still investigating the rest of the story, officials said.

Sis and Little Man and I went to the woods (for the eightyeleventh time this season) looking for the elusive morchella this weekend. Lil man wanted to run around in the woods and see the Trillium luteum, Thalictrum, Geranium, Podophyllum and all the other wonderful things blooming in the woods. As I set him down I noticed a little nose sticking up out of the leaf litter. Booya.

Over the past couple of days I have found about 50. Dan and D-boy went with me and little man this morning and we picked up about 20. No really big ones (I think all ours are Morchella deliciosa, the smaller grey morel) but they were abundant in an area about an acre in size. God there must be millions more. I might run out there one day this week and really hunt when I don’t have to worry about my little one rolling off a cliff or getting into the poison ivy.

Anyone found any morels this year? mine were in rich mixed mesophytic woods that were the kind of place you might find ginseng growing, around here. underneath hickories (looked like shagbark but might have been pignut), white ash, a few oaks and poplars and buckeyes. the honeysuckle bushes and privet and english ivy are bad news for everything and i think morels included.
